The United States will strive for outcomes in political and security forums that are consistent with U.S. interests and values—values which are shared by our allies and partners.
The United Nations can help contribute to solving many of the complex problems in the world, but it must be reformed and recommit to its founding principles. We will require accountability and emphasize shared responsibility among members.
If the United States is asked to provide disproportionate level of support for an institution, we will expect a commensurate degree of influence over the direction and efforts of that institution.
